Ethiopia Halo Beriti — Washed | Espresso

$19.95
Size: 12oz
A floral, fruit-forward espresso with a touch of sweetness that makes it impossible to put down.

The same exceptional lot from Halo Beriti, now profiled for espresso — and it translates beautifully. Where the filter cup shines with brightness and lift, the espresso profile coaxes out a touch more depth and sweetness, letting the grapefruit lean candied and the orange marmalade settle into something richer and less zesty. The jasmine is still there, wrapping everything in its signature floral bouquet.

Grown at altitude in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia and contributed by smallholder farmers to one of the region's most storied washing stations, Halo Beriti is a coffee that earns its place on the espresso bar just as much as the filter bar.

ABOUT THE COFFEE

IN FOCUS: Ethiopia Halo Beriti — Washed | Espresso

Producer & Washing Station
Halo Beriti washing station was established in 2014 in the Yirgacheffe highlands, and has built its reputation on consistently clean, high-altitude lots with exceptional floral and fruit character. The contributing farmers work small, high-altitude plots with remarkable precision — their work has appeared in Cup of Excellence competitions and on the menus of some of the most respected specialty roasters in the world. This lot was sourced through the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union, which supports and champions these smallholder producers at the origin level.

Varietal
Wolishalo, Kurume, and Dega — three indigenous Ethiopian varieties that bring genetic diversity and distinctive cup character rooted in the biodiversity of the Yirgacheffe growing region. Heritage varietals like these are a cornerstone of what makes Ethiopian coffee so unique on the world stage.

Processing
Fully washed, 12-day drying time. The clarity of the washed process is what makes this coffee work so well as a single-origin espresso — clean and structured, with nothing to muddy the brightness and florality that define the cup.

Cup Profile
On espresso, look for that familiar grapefruit note to shift — sweeter, rounder, like grapefruit with a dusting of sugar or a grapefruit candy. The orange marmalade comes through on the sweeter and less zesty side, and the jasmine florality rounds out the cup with elegance. The extra development of the espresso profile brings a touch more depth and richness without losing what makes this coffee so special.
