Producers & Origin
Turihamwe Washing Station was founded by seven women farmers, who built the site using savings earned from premiums provided by their exporting partner, JNP Coffee. Their shared investment became a groundbreaking milestone — the first women-owned washing station in Burundi. “Turihamwe” means together in Kirundi, and that spirit guides every part of their work.

Owning their own processing station allows these producers to control quality at every stage and build long-term financial stability. Through their investment group, Turihamwe Turashobora, they plan to expand production from just five microlots to over 1,200 bags annually.
