Ethiopia Banko Gotiti | Washed

$22.95
Size: 12oz

Banko Gotiti Cooperative was founded in 2012, to serve its now 300 members in their coffee production and processing. This cooperative and washing station is well known and widely acclaimed, with some exceptional other roasters across the country often partnering with them to bring their coffees stateside, and we’re proud to be one of them this year!

This is a washed process coffee, much in line with the traditional washing process in Ethiopia which consists of usually a 8-12 hour fermentation in open air tanks, washing in water channels to remove mucilage, and then raised bed drying for 5-15 days. This coffee is made up of Ethiopian Heirloom varietals, so expect a very classic Ethiopia profile. Washed Ethiopias are known and characterized for their clarity and cleanliness, but delicate nuance and tea like qualities, and this coffee is an exceptional example of those flavor qualities. Look for a very lovely bouquet of flavors in this coffee, with loads of florals but notably also some tart grapefruit, some sweet raspberry jam, stone fruits, and just this overall florality and white tea quality throughout and in the finish, making the cup drink like a fruit tea of sorts. Very pleasant, very clean and just a very elegant coffee.
